Creative Cafe Barista

Creative Chem Co. is an eclectic workspace where people meet, work, and get inspired. Designed for creatives, we foster a sense of belonging and community. As a barista, you'll be the welcoming face of our cafe and coworking space, supporting the local community's workday and creative needs. Our goal is to create a coffee experience that's inspiring and unlike anywhere else in the city.

Essential Functions

  • Knowledge of coffee shops and coffee products is not necessary, however you must be willing to learn.

  • Prepare all drinks, prep, and maintain a high quality and consistent product.

  • Dial-in espresso equipment in accordance with quality standards and directives.

  • Batch and restock items as necessary to keep the shop functioning optimally.

  • Accurately process transactions in the POS system.

  • Create a rapport with customers learning their preferences, and make personal connections through genuine interactions, warm smiles, and open and positive body language.

  • Educate guests and members on our products and services.

  • Assist coworking members with questions and equipment support.

  • Communicate with team members and management to solve problems.
    Support a positive work environment.

  • Stay productive and proactive throughout the entire shift, even when business is slow

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by upholding cleanliness standards and preventing cross contamination for allergens.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by shop manager and supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Can work carefully and quickly with hot water and coffee, dairy products, and glasses.

  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve under pressure.

  • Strength in interacting with the community, and customer service that is executed in a personal and professional manner.

  • Demonstration of passion and enthusiasm for coffee and creativity.

  • Strong attention to detail and respect for cleanliness and sanitation.

  • Can lift up to 50lbs

  • Ability to stand and walk for 4-8 hour shifts

Work Schedule Requirements

  • Works a flexible schedule, which can include early mornings (6:30 am) and late evenings (6:30 pm).

  • Early morning weekday availability is often necessary, with weekend shifts required.

  • Follows company procedure for communicating time off requests.

  • An ideal candidate is available to work weekends.

  • Available to work minor holidays, if necessary.
